Nights Flights Rally

Night flights rally

A large rally took place at Westminster Central Hall on 24th Oct. It was organised
by campaigners at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted and was timed to coincide with
the government’s deliberations on the night flights regime at these three airports.

The rally was a great success. Over 400 people attended and no less than 18 MPs
spoke as well as local councillors and members of the Greater London Authority.

There was a great display of unity and the MPs made much of this being a cross-party
issue. However, it did not escape notice that two MPs would said they supported
local residents had in fact a voted in Parliament remove allow restrictions on
night flights to be removed (see previous story on the Civil Aviation Bill). Those
MPs were Ann Keen and Martin Linton.

The MPs who spoke were are as follows. Those who voted in favour of more flights
