North Somerset Council raises big concerns about Bristol airport

(22.2.2007     Bath Chronicle)

Councillors then agreed to “note the masterplan”, and pass on 6 major concerns.
They included the lack of suggestions on how to improve roads near the airport,
how there had been no independent look at noise and pollution, and how Government
policy demanded cuts in carbon dioxide emissions, and an increase in air travel
opportunity.   The councillors also called for a cost and benefit analysis of the
expansion plan, and to look at any other problems that could arise.   Because the
plan has been discussed by councillors on the planning committee and full council,
the next step will be for airport bosses to come up with solutions to concerns
raised.   (Bath Chronicle article)
