Seminar in the European Parliament - Tuesday 27th March 2007 - Curbing Emissions from Aviation

Held in the European Parliament.

In July 2006 the European Parliament endorsed, by a sizeable majority, a report from its Environment Committee which called for a range of measures to curb emissions, including a ‘closed’ Emissions Trading System; an Emissions Charge; an intra-EU tax on fuel; and the abolition of the VAT exemptions.   The seminar looked at the options and the arguments, and was useful for Members of the European Parliament and the Commission, NGOs, and decision-makers.
