Nowadays aviation is never out of the headlines, and is a crucial and difficult
issue for the UK and globally.
Expansion of airports and increased flights are causing considerable local environmental
problems, including noise and disturbance, for those near airports. Aviation
is one of the fastest growing sources of climate change gases for the UK, and
this also has implications for global equity. UK government policies on climate
change and aviation are utterly contradictory.
