MP tackles air noise battle

EDM continues:

 recognises that residents in the 66 decibel contour at Heathrow, Gatwick and
Stansted airports are entitled to grants to assist with noise insulation, including
secondary glazing and roof and wall insulation, while residents affected by comparable
noise levels at Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen airports receive no such assistance;
believes that there is no justification for this discrepancy, which arbitrarily
favours English residents over their Scottish counterparts; notes that BAA in
Scotland has a good track record of listening to legitimate community concerns;
and calls on BAA to take swift action to level the playing field and provide that
same level of assistance in this matter at all BAA airports in all parts of the
United Kingdom.
