Call to expand flights at Anglesey airport

AIRLINES have been urged to "bring it on" in a bid to expand services from a
North Wales airport.
The Welsh Assembly is set to release a report on future options for Anglesey
Airport at RAF Valley after revealing 17,000 passengers had used the airlink to
Cardiff since the service was launched in May 2007.
Assembly officials have already urged airlines to step forward to declare an
interest in expanding services to other destinations.
The news comes as MP Albert Owen told the Daily Post he hoped to restart the
Valley Action Group to press for route expansion to London and Dublin.
A Welsh Assembly spokesman said: "The North-South airlink has been a success,
beating all expectations. The latest figures show 17,000 passengers have booked
on the service in the first 14 months in operation."
