Brandon O’Reilly reported that for the period January 1st to June 30th there were 11,404 movements, a 15% decline from last year. Weekend movements were 2,498, a 29% increase, and larger aircraft were 247, a 28% increase. TAG had increased its market share due mainly to weekend movements.
Brandon O’Reilly reported on current projections that the number of movements in the first quarter of 2009 were 3.8% less than 2008. Weekend movements were 3,972 (4,200 are permitted). Weekend demand increased by 86.9% in January/February. There was a 70.8% increase in larger aircraft movements. However the airfield is not immune to the economic down turn and the development of hangar 2 is being suspended. FACC
Movements in October this year were similar to movements in October 2007 and it is predicted that there will be approximately 26,000 movements by the end of the year. Weekend movements have increased by 51% year on year during October with an increase in larger aircraft of 15%. Hangar 2 construction is under way with a completion target of June 2010.
Brandon O’Reilly reported that movements between January and June 2008 were 4.7% higher than those in the same period in 2007. There is a reduced rate of growth due to lower demand and fewer smaller aircraft due in part to higher landing fees. Weekends movements increased by 30% compared with the same period for last year and there has been an 84% increase in larger aircraft (50-80 tonnes) over the last six months.
