DECC quarterly figures for UK aviation turbine fuel show a decline

DECC produce figures each quarter, to show the amount of energy of all sorts
being used in the UK.
One of the statistics they collect is the amount of aviation turbine fuel used
in that quarter. This is the amount of turbine fuel sold in the UK and does not
take account of fuel used by airlines here, but bought abroad.
During all of 2008, the amount droped by 3% – compared to 2007.
During the first quarter of 2009 the quantity of aviation turbine fuel bought
in the UK fell by 7.1% compared to the same quarter in 2008.
During the second quarter of 2009 the quantity of aviation turbine fuel bought
in the UK fell by 2.7% compared to the same quarter in 2008.
During the third quarter of 2009 the quantity of aviation turbine fuel bought
in the UK fell by 3.7% compared to the same quarter in 2008.
The CAA statistics for all of 2009 show there was a drop of – 8.5% in Air Transport Movements in 2009 compared to 2008. And there was a drop
of -7.2% in the number of terminal passengers in 2009 compared to 2008.
