City Airport’s new record passenger numbers

13.1.2008     (Newham Recorder)

PASSENGER numbers at London City Airport reached a record high in 2007 with over
2.9 million people travelling to and from it.   This was a 23% increase in passenger
numbers compared with 2006.

Richard Gooding Chief Executive of London City Airport, said: “The airport had
a great 2007.   Our convenient location, combined with fast check-in and arrival
processing times, appeals to time-poor business travellers.   There is no doubt
that passengers all across London and the South East are waking up to the options
offered by this airport; not least the attractive five minutes taken to exit the
terminal from the steps of the aircraft. New services started during the year
to Belfast, Glasgow, Groningen, Madrid, Nice, Oslo and Vienna.”
