Biggin Hill airport is benefitting from millions of pounds worth of investment
that is set to create 300 new jobs for the area.

Middle Eastern jet company Rizon is constructing a £10million, 13,000 square metre hanger with aircraft parking,
maintenance and passenger processing facilities, set to open at the end of May.

A new £8million, 75-bed hotel is also set to open at the airport site near Westerham
at the beginning of 2012.

Together the ventures will create 300 jobs, a Biggin Hill spokesman said.

“It is very welcome news,” he said. “It is very high innovation and high end
maintenance and technology. And there are new jobs for local people – it ticks
all boxes.”

Rizon is simultaneously building a parallel hanger in Doha, the capital of Qatar,
which is due to open in the second quarter of this year.

Corporate jets will fly between the two destinations as well as to other locations.
Biggin Hill already offers long-haul business flights to LA, Singapore and Beijing.

Meanwhile, Air Partner has called in the administrators at one of its private
jet operating subsidiaries based at Biggin Hill.–newsinkent33944.aspx?news=local
