BAA, the owners of Glasgow Airport, have dropped plans to build a 2nd runway and slashed forecasts for passenger growth under a new 30-year development plan.  It expects to see 10 million people a year use Glasgow International by 2020, compared to 6.5 million passengers in 2010, with 16.4 million passengers a year expected by 2040. But this is far lower than the earlier forecast of over 20 million passengers by 2030, needing runway 2.
